You can use various kinds of mediums or varnish to adhere the decoupage rice paper, however we strongly recommend a quality decoupage medium such as Paint Couture Decoupage Medium Matte or Paint Couture Decoupage Medium Shine for use on any of the AB Studio decoupage papers. Remember that a high gloss varnish will enhance the colors.

It is recommended to use a white or light colored background color for the paper to be vibrant. Using other background colors will make it less visible. If you use sandpaper, be careful not to ruin the pattern as it is delicate.

Rice paper is a great material for beginners because it is translucent, elastic, and delicate to the touch. Decoupage rice paper by AB Studio is thin and very durable, yet it is also flexible and easy to apply to any surface without visible wrinkles. Apply just a little decoupage medium to your piece and then apply the decoupage paper. Apply a thin layer of decoupage medium on top of the paper. This mold can be used with clay such as paper clay or polymer clay, resin, as well as with food decoration mediums such as chocolate or fondant. When using resin with this mold, we recommend that you apply a release agent first, for example a thin layer of cooking oil spray. When using polymer or air-dry clay with this mold, we recommend that you apply a fine layer of cornstarch, talcum powder or water on the mold before filling it with clay.

Heat resistant, they can be placed in the oven at temperatures up to 464F. They are also microwave, refrigerator and freezer safe. Food safe silicone mold perfect for food decoration and fondant.

Paint Couture is an acrylic water based mineral paint that is self-leveling and is formulated with a built in primer and topcoat. Paint Couture is environmentally safe with Zero VOC* (VOC <5 g/l). It is made without any of the highly carcinogenic PVA (polyvinyl alcohol). It has exceptional durability and amazing coverage while providing a smooth, matte finish.

Use Paint Couture glaze to enhance your project for a distressed or antiqued look and don't forget about the Metallic Paints as well for added elegance. Use Paint Couture 2-in-1 Premium Plus Bonding and Blocking Primer for non-wood surfaces or for wood that may bleed through with tannins. Our Topcoats are recommended for heavy interior use or our Extreme Guard for exterior use. Our Extender can be used to increase the dry time of our paints by adding small amounts, not to exceed 15%.

Dry times are estimated based off ideal conditions (70F/21C, 70% humidity). Cool temperatures and high humidity can prolong dry time up to 8-10 hours.
