This is General Finishes' easiest finish ever! Hard Wax Oil is a high-quality urethane-solids polymer in a blend of oil & wax that enhances the natural look of wood. The urethane gives Hard Wax Oil improved chemical and mechanical properties over standard oil & wax finishes. The recommended use is for interior raw wood furniture, millwork & woodworking projects.

What results you can expect? It will not crack or peel, can be buffed to a slightly higher sheen, and is very EASY to use. This is a maintenance product. Reapply when wear becomes evident.

Best used with optional General Finishes Hardener to improve durability and shorten dry time. The combination of Hard Wax Oil & Hardener provides superior durability, and chemical and water resistance.  

Old Masters Fast Dry Oil Based Stain

Designed for craftsmen, this fast drying, high quality interior oil-based stain applies easily and enhances the wood’s natural grain with its intensified depth of color and clarity.

Fast Dry Stain is recommended for use on interior wood surfaces or surfaces on which the previous finish has been removed. This stain is preferred for hardwoods, such as oak, ash, walnut, and mahogany.

Where to Use
Experience optimal results on all interior wood surfaces, such as cabinets, doors, floors, furniture, and woodwork.

Surface Preparation
The wood surface must be clean, dry, and free from dirt, wax, or grease. Sand the wood thoroughly - first with medium grit sandpaper, then progressing to a fine grit paper. Always sand in the direction of the wood grain. Sand smooth, then remove dust particles with a lint-free rag or a tack rag. If staining previously finished surfaces, first restore the surface to bare wood by completely removing the old finish, then follow the surface preparation directions listed above.

Application
Stir well before and during use. Stain may be brushed, sprayed, or wiped onto the surface. Before the stain dries, wipe off excess stain with a soft cloth. Allow stain to dry thoroughly before applying topcoat.

Technical Information

Mixing and Tinting:
Achieve custom colors by intermixing Fast Dry Wood Stain colors or by adding up to 10 ounces of universal or industrial colorant per gallon to any Fast Dry Wood Stain or by adding colorant to Natural/Tint Base Fast Dry Wood Stain. Natural/Tint Base Fast Dry Wood Stain may be used to lighten a Fast Dry Wood Stain color in any proportion or as a tint base to which colorant may be added for ultimate color selection. The amount of colorant added may affect performance and extend dry time.

Coverage:
Approximately 500 square feet per gallon. Spreading rate will vary significantly depending on application method and condition of wood.

Drying Time:
Oil-based finishes may be applied 30 minutes after wiping. Dry times may be extended due to humidity, low temperature, lack of air movement, excess stain application, or lack of penetration. Be sure surface is thoroughly dry before top coating. Ideal drying conditions recommended are 70° to 75°F and 35 to 50% humidity.

Cleanup:
Using a cleaning solvent, such as paint thinner or mineral spirits, is recommended for cleanup. The use of paint thinners or mineral spirits may violate VOC compliancy in your area. Check with your local government agencies to ensure proper compliancy.

DANGER: Rags, steel wool, sanding residue, and other wastes used or soaked with this product may spontaneously catch fire if improperly discarded. No ignition source is required for these wastes to start on fire by themselves. Immediately place rags, steel wool, sanding residue, and other wastes used or soaked with this product in a sealed, water-filled metal container. Dispose of in accordance with local fire regulations.

Recommended Finish Coat:
We recommend Old Masters clear finishes. However, Fast Dry Wood Stain can be top coated with virtually any finish, including professional finishes such as lacquers and conversion varnishes. Wait 24 hours before top coating with a water-based clear finish.

How to use our molds: When appropriate, apply a release agent to the surface of the mold in a fine, even layer. Fill the mold with your medium and allow to cure. Gently bend along the edges of the mold to release the casting. Remove the casting with care, without any forceful pulling or excessive bending. Certain mediums with higher water content and/or elasticity may tend to stretch with the mold when attempting to remove, making it more difficult to separate them from the mold. If that happens, simply place the mold in the freezer for about 30 minutes. The casting will then pop right out.

iFlex Wood Products MUST be heated before being bent or trying to flex them. iFlex Wood Product Trims come in a roll. You can heat them with a hair dryer or heat gun. When it is heated properly it becomes very flexible and malleable. If it is not, its not warm enough.

You can apply iFlex Wood Products with a quality wood glue.  Once applied to the piece, heat it again and push it down to mould it perfectly to your piece. If you break your iFlex Wood Product before applying, no worries it is repairable! Attach one portion to your piece, and apply glue to your broken piece. iFlex Wood Products features a cost effective assortment of heat bendable decorative mouldings, embellishments and trim that can be painted, stained, drilled, sanded and varnished like any other piece of wood.  They become pliable once heated and most are lightweight.  iFlex Wood Products can be moulded to fit tight radiuses and contoured to multiple surfaces including wood, glass, metal, vinyl, MDF, plastic and more!

iFlex Wood Products are so easy to apply with a quality wood glue or adhesive.  They bend with the aide of heat from a hair dryer, heat gun or by steam.  These amazing embellishments will give an added flair to your craft and furniture projects and so much more!

iFlex Wood Products MUST be heated before being bent or trying to flex them. iFlex Wood Product Trims come in a roll. You can heat them with a hair dryer or heat gun. When it is heated properly it becomes very flexible and malleable. If it is not, its not warm enough.

You can apply iFlex Wood Products with a quality wood glue.  Once applied to the piece, heat it again and push it down to mould it perfectly to your piece. If you break your iFlex Wood Product before applying, no worries it is repairable! Attach one portion to your piece, and apply glue to your broken piece. You can use various kinds of mediums or varnish to adhere the decoupage rice paper, however we strongly recommend a quality decoupage medium such as Paint Couture Decoupage Medium Matte or Paint Couture Decoupage Medium Shine for use on any of the ITD Collection decoupage papers.  Remember that a high gloss varnish will enhance the colors.

It is recommended to use a white or light colored background color for the paper to be vibrant.  Using other background colors will make it less visible.  If you use sandpaper, be careful not to ruin the pattern as it is delicate.

Rice paper is a great material for beginners because it is translucent, elastic, and delicate to the touch.  Decoupage rice paper by ITD Collection is thin and very durable, yet it is also flexible and easy to apply to any surface without visible wrinkles.  Apply just a little decoupage medium to your piece and then apply the decoupage paper.  Apply a thin layer of decoupage medium on top of the paper.  The paper will hold firmly to the project surface when using a decoupage medium.  Some decoupage rice papers have fibers that are visible, but these do not affect the decoupage medium and are part of an original look.
