Velvet Fibers are designed to adhere to an appropriate wet adhesive or medium applied to the project surface.

Once applied, the fine fibers stand and overlap across the adhesive layer, creating a soft flocked surface with the visual and tactile characteristics associated with velvet and suede-like finishes.

HOW TO USE

For best results, begin with a clean, dry, properly prepared surface.

STEP 1 – PREPARE YOUR SURFACE

Prepare and, when desired, paint the surface before applying Velvet Fibers.

For richer coverage, consider using a base color similar to the Velvet Fiber color you have selected.

STEP 2 – APPLY YOUR ADHESIVE OR MEDIUM

Apply an even coat of an appropriate compatible adhesive or medium to the area where the Velvet Fibers will be placed.

Work in manageable sections so the adhesive remains wet and receptive to the fibers.

STEP 3 – APPLY VELVET FIBERS

Generously sprinkle or distribute the Velvet Fibers over the wet adhesive.

Apply enough fibers to completely cover the desired area rather than attempting to use only the exact quantity that will ultimately remain attached.

STEP 4 – ALLOW TO SET

Allow the fibers and adhesive to set and dry thoroughly according to the instructions for the adhesive or medium being used.

Avoid disturbing the surface while it dries.

STEP 5 – REMOVE EXCESS

Once thoroughly dry, gently remove the loose excess fibers.

Clean, uncontaminated excess fibers may be collected for reuse when practical.

CREATIVE TIP

For the richest velvet appearance, use a coordinating base color underneath the fibers. If a tiny area between fibers remains visible, the matching background helps maintain the appearance of a deep, continuous color.
